3. EARLY LITERACY TIP FOR PARENTS
Listening and Speaking
You can talk not only about your child’s feelings, but about yours as well, especially at Halloween time with pumpkins and Jack-O-Lanterns and people in costumes that may frighten a child or make them feel uncertain or intrigued, but also unsure of them. This is a good time to talk about how children feel about pumpkins with a face—Jack-O-Lanterns or other images associated with Halloween. You can talk about how you felt as a child at Halloween. This is a good time to touch in with your child. It’s a fun time, but also a challenging time with lots of things happening—all at once. See you at Storytime, Lauren
