4. Early Literacy Tip:
Pre-Literacy Tip—The Joy of Giving
The Winter holidays, whether it be Hannukah, Kwanzaa or Christmas, is a splendid time to teach children about the joy of giving. Help your children to make presents for people they love - a coloring book picture for Daddy, a card for Mommy. Young children can also help in making cookies (stirring the dough, sprinkling the sprinkles) to give to Grandma and Grandpa. Along the way they will feel the joy, as will you, in seeing the happiness that comes with giving while you share these activities together!
